At Pyrasied, we share the beauty of acrylic (PMMA) with you and the world. Acrylic, also widely known as Plexiglas or acrylic glass, is a versatile, high-quality transparent plastic material with outstanding optical properties. That’s why we keep a wide range of acrylic sheets in stock as standard, available in many variants and finishes. What makes clear acrylic so special? Its beauty lies in its exceptional clarity. Compared to glass, it is brighter, lighter, and significantly stronger, while maintaining a crystal-clear appearance.Clear acrylic offers an impressive light transmission of up to 92% and is optically clear, making it ideal for applications where transparency and visual quality are essential.
This exceptional clarity is reflected in its wide range of applications. Acrylic sheets are widely used in interior design for decorative and aesthetic purposes, where transparency and a premium appearance are essential. In addition, acrylic is extensively used in industrial and technical applications, such as machine covers, protective shields, safety guards, and other transparent protective solutions.
Acrylic is known for its outstanding properties: it is up to 25 times stronger than glass, UV-resistant, colourfast, and highly durable with a long lifespan. When properly used and maintained, acrylic remains visually clear and attractive for many years. In addition, acrylic is fully recyclable and can be reprocessed into new acrylic sheets, making it a more sustainable material choice. We also offer acrylic products made from 100% recycled material, supporting circular production and reduced environmental impact. Green Cast and Ecocrylic. Transparent acrylic has a light transmission of 92% and a fire rating of class E according to EN 13501-1. Datasheets and brochures are available here. available.
We are the acrylic sheet specialist with the most extensive stock of acrylic sheets, tubes and rods in Europe. This material is stocked as standard in clear, transparent acrylic, translucent, satin and opaque colours and special types such as mirror or metallic. Our acrylic sheets are available in thicknesses from 0.5 to 100 mm and can be flexibly ordered to size, with no minimum order.
Acrylic is widely used in shop interiors, stand and decor construction and signing, for example as front windows, glazing, display cases, displays, protective covers, furniture and wall presentations. View our projects for inspiring examples.
Acrylic is easy to process: sawing, milling, lasering, hot bending, gluing, drilling, engraving, polishing and sanding. From our workshop, we deliver custom-made products according to drawing or design, where high-tech machines and craftsmanship come together for optimal results.

The transparent plastic acrylic (PMMA) is known by various brand names such as Plexiglas and Perspex. At Pyrasied, you will recognise this plastic under brand names such as Astariglas, Versato and Green Cast.
GS (cast acrylic) is optically purer, but has a thickness tolerance. XT (extruded acrylic) has hardly any thickness tolerance, but is optically slightly less pure. However, the optical differences are hardly noticeable, especially with smaller sheets.
For applications where the material is in a profile or where a flat surface is required, we recommend using extruded acrylic.
Want more choice of thicknesses, colours and surfaces? Then you can opt for cast (GS) acrylic.
Acrylic is crystal clear, 25 times stronger than glass and available in many colours, thicknesses and surface textures. Acrylic has the EN13501 fire classification. Acrylic is very easy to process: sawing, milling, laser cutting, hot and cold bending, gluing, drilling, polishing, sanding and printing.
Polycarbonate is highly impact-resistant and 250 times stronger than glass. This material is less clear compared to acrylic. Polycarbonate is available in clear and in some colours. This material has a better fire rating than acrylic: Bs1d0. Polycarbonate cannot always be lasered.
PETG is food-grade certified, chemical-resistant and is the only plastic allowed in public areas such as airports. In addition, PETG is impact-resistant and has the same fire certification as polycarbonate. PETG is not UV-resistant. PETG has no thickness tolerance and is available in clear and in some colour variations. PETG can also be vacuum formed. This material cannot always be lasered.
Plexiglas® and acrylic are the same thing. In fact, Plexiglas is a brand name of the transparent plastic acrylic, just like Perspex®. In the Netherlands, PLEXIGLAS® is so well known that it has also popularly become a product name.
