Description
Polycarbonate opal
Polycarbonate opal is a strong and durable plastic sheet with a milky, translucent appearance. The material is extremely impact-resistant - up to 250 times stronger than glass - making it ideal for applications where safety is important. Thanks to its opal colour, it has a soft, diffuse appearance. Polycarbonate opal is shatterproof and burglar-resistant.
The material is UV-resistant and has an excellent fire rating (Bs1d0), making it suitable for use in public areas. With high temperature resistance, it is self-extinguishing and fire-retardant.
A major advantage of polycarbonate is that it can be cold bent without risk of breaking or cracking, making it versatile and easy to process. In addition, the 50% is lighter than glass, making handling and assembly easier.
