Solid surface material is a high-quality, durable plastic made of mineral filler bound in a polyester resin. The material is durable as it has a long lifespan and is not easily damaged.
Within solid surface materials, we have included two collections.
Marlan is a Dutch plastic manufacturer with a solid surface collection consisting of several variants. They have developed several collections, each with its own characteristics.
The other solid surface collection we have included is that of Durat. Durat has two different solid surface collections: Durat Palace and Durat RAL. Durat is known for its sustainable materials. In fact, all variants consist of 30% recycled acrylic.
We have also included the Translucent Stone collection in the solid surface material group, as the material can be used for the same applications. However, this collection is not food-safe and is porous. Nevertheless, Translucent Stone can be made food-safe by means of a coating.
Solid surface material from Durat and Marlan are moisture-resistant, lightweight, heat-resistant, colourfast, food-safe, non-porous and chemical-resistant. As the material is non-porous, it is very hygienic. Dirt and bacteria are not absorbed into the material, making it very suitable for the catering industry. In addition, solid surface material is very robust. If the surface is damaged anyway, the material is easy to repair.
Due to its excellent properties, the material is very suitable in various sectors such as healthcare, hospitality, recreation, government, education, bathroom, kitchen, yacht and motorhome construction. The application possibilities of solid surface are extremely versatile.
The solid surface collections by Marlan and Durat are very suitable as a custom-made shower floor, bath, sink or kitchen worktop. All collections, including Translucent Stone, are also suitable as bar and counter fronts, table tops, wall coverings and other interior applications
