Description
Cast clear acrylic (GS plexiglass) from Pyrasied is a high-quality, optically pure plastic material with exceptional clarity and brilliance. Thanks to the cast production method, this material has excellent mechanical and optical properties, and is highly machinable.
Acrylic, also known as Plexiglas or Perspex®, has a light transmission of 92%, making it brighter than glass. It is also 25 times stronger than glass, lightweight and resistant to ageing and discolouration.
Pyrasied offers a wide range of cast acrylic sheets (GS) - in various thicknesses, colours and surface textures. This material is wonderful in combination with (natural) light: it captures, conducts and diffuses light in a unique way. In short, light makes acrylic come alive.
What is cast (GS) acrylic?
The abbreviation GS stands for cast and refers to the production method. Cast clear acrylic (GS plexiglass) from Pyrasied is produced via a casting process, in which liquid acrylic(aat) is poured into a mould and slowly cures. This results in sheets without internal stresses, making the material highly workable and easy to finish yourself.
The main advantage of GS plexiglass over extruded (XT) acrylic is its excellent machinability. In addition, cast acrylic has the same characteristic properties as XT, such as high transparency, UV resistance and durability.

Setacrylic from Green Cast is a cast (GS) acrylic with glossy surface on both sides, made of 100% recycled PMMA. The material is:

For applications where the material is in a profile or a flat surface is required, we recommend using extruded acrylic.
Processing options
GS acrylic is easy to work with techniques such as sawing, milling, lasering, hot bending, gluing, drilling, faceting, polishing, matting and printing.
