A Light Shaping Diffuser (LSD) is an optical film with an advanced microstructure. It allows you to direct a light beam in a highly focused manner, without scattering. LSD shapes the beam aperture exactly to specification, e.g. 30° in the x direction and 2° in the y direction.

This technology supports R&D departments and lighting designers when working with spot or concentrated light sources. LSDs work like optical lenses and are placed with the structured side facing the light source.

Luminit's film lets 85-92% of the light through (400-1600 nm), depending on the viewing angle. You can set the beam angle from 0.5° to 80° (FWHM) with minimal losses. This keeps light efficiently, homogeneously and accurately focused.

The 80° variant provides the strongest diffusion and also acts as a double-sided projection plate.
